Rebates and Eligibility

Many patients are eligible for Medicare rebates through:

  • GP management plan

In many cases, yes. A GP referral is required for Medicare-subsidised visits under a care plan. Private appointments may not need a referral.

Services are usually privately billed. Eligible patients can access Medicare rebates through GP Management plan referrals and private health funds. Work insurance may cover part or the full cost.

Patients with chronic conditions may be eligible for up to five subsidised allied health visits per calendar year under the Enhanced Primary Care program.
